CREECA Degrees and Certificates
CREECA is home to four academic programs in Russian, East European, and Central Asian Studies (REECAS):
German, Nordic, and Slavic Degrees and Certificates
UW-Madison’s Department of German, Nordic, and Slavic (GNS) also offers a variety of academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. While CREECA’s degrees are more interdisciplinary in focus and cover a broader region, GNS programs are exclusive to Slavic languages and literatures:
- Russian Major
- Polish Major
- Undergraduate Certificate in East Central European Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
- MA/PhD in Slavic Languages and Literature
- PhD Minors in Slavic
Funding
In addition, CREECA offers Academic Year and Summer Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships to undergraduate and graduate students seeking to gain expertise in a regional language and area studies. Students do not have to be enrolled in a REECAS program to be eligible, and CREECA encourages students from the professional schools to apply.
