UW-Madison’s Language Acquisition and Bilingualism Lab is seeking participants for research on how Russian-English bilingual, Ukrainian-English bilingual, and trilingual 3- to 9-year-olds develop language skills through retelling stories. Children with language delays can participate. Participation is virtual via Zoom. Join their research and learn more about the language development of your child! This study, Learning in Two Languages, has received approval from the UW-Madison Institutional Review Board and is under the direction of Dr. Margarita Kaushanskaya, Ph.D.
Your 3- to 9-year-old may be eligible if:
- They hear Ukrainian and/or Russian and English regularly
Participation Information:
- 1 Session that is 60 Minutes scheduled at a convenient time for your family
- Sessions take place virtually via Zoom
- Children play games, look at pictures, and listen to stories with researchers and their caregiver/parent
- Caregiver/parent fills out several questionnaires regarding language and health background
Compensation:
- $20 for the completion of questionnaires and $15 for the completion of the virtual session via an Amazon gift card
