“Culture and Politics in Prague” is a 4-week faculty-led study abroad program (June 3-30, 2018) for undergraduates that focuses on issues of modern political, social, economic, and cultural concerns in Eastern Europe. Students will earn 6 upper-division credits in political science and anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (UWL).
All classes, guest lectures, and excursion tours will be in English. In addition to class meetings, we will have excursions to local sites, including a tours of the Jewish Quarter and a bomb shelter, visits to the Museum of Communism and the Ethnographic Museum, and a trip to a local NGO. Course assignments include a reflective journal, an ongoing blog, and mini-activities to encourage students to experience the local culture on their own.
Non-UWL students are highly encouraged to apply. Students at other UW system campuses and at other US colleges and universities are encouraged to contact us for details.
Applications are due March 1, 2018. Apply at UWL Study Abroad.
