The Russian and East European Studies Librarian supports the research, teaching, and learning mission of the University of Pennsylvania as team member in the Center for Global Collections developing and managing library resources from and about Russia, the former Soviet Union, East Europe and its diasporas and providing library services for the interdisciplinary field of Russian and East European Studies at Penn. Duties include collection development, reference, instruction, and liaison services, acquisition and cataloging, and collaboration with other Penn libraries.
A master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school or a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience with the equivalent in education and training and advanced knowledge of Russian, former Soviet Union or East European history, literature, and culture are required.
