Position Open: Program Coordinator, NSLI-Y 2022

Based in Washington, DC, the Program Coordinator will support the administration, daily operations, and alumni activities for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth.  NSLI for Youth is a critical component of a multi-agency initiative to increase U.S. citizens’ capacity to engage foreign governments and peoples through the critical languages of Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Persian (Tajiki), Russian, and Turkish.  NSLI for Youth provides merit-based scholarships to U.S. high school students for overseas language immersion and virtual programs.  NSLI-Y is a program of U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs; American Councils leads its administration in cooperation with AFS-USA, iEARN-USA, and other partner organizations.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the target languages, international affairs, international education, education, or related field
  • At least three years of professional experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
