The position is assigned to one of six regional branches in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Division, Office of International Visitors, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA/PE/V/R). The IVLP supports the exchange of ideas and opinions that enhances international and mutual understanding by bringing current and future leaders from other countries to meet with their professional counterparts in the U.S.
The international visitor exchange specialist will be responsible for:
- Providing program, project and policy guidance and direction to National Program Agencies (NPA), and cooperative partners of the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).
- Managing annual country IVLP allocations, provides guidance to U.S. missions abroad on their optimal use, and monitors spending throughout the year to ensure that missions do not exceed allocations without the Branch Chief s approval.
- Establishing effective working relations with private and public sector partners in support of all IVLP projects.
