The Language Program Office is a member of the International Division, serving communities engaged in learning, teaching, and researching Less Commonly Taught Languages. The LPO is the home of the Wisconsin Intensive Summer Language Institutes (WISLI); Project GO at UW-Madison; the American Institute of Pakistan Studies; the Regional Flagship Languages Initiatives (RFLI) for Hindi, Indonesian, Turkish, and Urdu; and the RFLI Culture Initiatives grant. The LPO works closely with partners and stakeholders both on and off-campus, and continually seeks out new grants, programs, and projects. This position will be expected to work closely with LPO leadership working with budgets, finance, hiring and payroll, grants management and oversight, and other duties for both daily activities and larger projects. Duties will be both administrative and financial, helping ensure the success of all LPO programs, both current and new initiatives that may develop over time.
The administrative specialist is responsible for a variety of professional level work across a variety of administrative service areas including budget, finance, procurement, and human resources with impact across the institution in support of unit or institutional goals.
