This is part of an initiative to improve access to study abroad at UW-Madison.
For some students, the up-front cost ($145) and unfamiliar logistics of applying for a passport is a barrier to study abroad. This offer is to remove that barrier.
For this Passport Giveaway, International Academic Programs and the International Division are offering $145 scholarships to approximately 50 students to cover the cost of their passport application, and providing guidance from UW Study Abroad advisors to help students successfully navigate the passport application process.
This opportunity is open to all UW-Madison students who are U.S. citizens and are in need of their first-ever passport (not a passport renewal). Students from historically underrepresented populations on campus are especially encouraged to apply.
