Job: Student Intern (CREECA)

The Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia (CREECA), in cooperation with the Russian Flagship Program, seeks a responsible, organized, and outgoing student intern for summer 2018. The intern’s chief responsibility will be to coordinate the “NUUW Connections” program in summer 2018. “NUUW connections” brings together students from UW-Madison with visiting students from Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan during the 8-week summer session (June 18-Augut 11). The NUUW Connections intern will be responsible for coordinating several social events and maintaining communication among group members, as well as assisting with other general tasks in the CREECA office, including preparing posters and mailings, making updates to the CREECA website (in WordPress) and social media sites, and performing other clerical/office tasks.

Applicants should be available to work throughout the summer (early June through mid-August); the normal workload will be 10-15 hours per week. Applicants must be current/continuing UW-Madison students. Those who graduated in May 2018 are not eligible to apply.

Experience with managing social media required. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Adobe, WordPress required. Experience and/or willingness to learn other computer programs highly desirable.
