Job: Russian-Speaking Advocate (Sojourner)

Sojourner, a non-profit organization in Milwaukee that serves victims of domestic violence, is offering a part-time position for speakers of Russian.

Sojourner’s Refugee Family Strengthening Project provides for the needs of Russian-speaking victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking across the state of Wisconsin. Sojourner is currently seeking to hire a part-time advocate for our Refugee Family Strengthening Project. This position requires Russian language fluency. The part-time advocate will provide advocacy and case management services to Russian-speaking clients, accompany clients to legal and medical appointments, connect clients to community resources, and assist the program coordinator with community outreach and the administration of a Russian language support group. The position is paid and requires 20 hours of work time per week.

Basic Requirements:

  • Ability to speak Russian
  • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously, attend to details and solve problems and work as a team member.
  • Must have a car, be willing to make home visits, and transport clients as necessary.
  • Available to work some evening hours.
