The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) seeks a full-time Research Analyst for its Russia program to provide timely and exceptional analysis of Russia’s strategy formulation and its expanding global military activity within the framework of United States national security interests. The Russia portfolio provides premier strategic analysis of Russia’s military and geopolitical ambitions as well as the security challenges facing post-revolution Ukraine. The project aims to keep policy makers informed of the strategic forecast, inflection points, and potential policy options for the United States. The analyst must bring a contextual and historical understanding of post-Soviet Russian foreign policy, Russian imperial and Soviet history, Russian military affairs, Russian information operations, and geopolitics to his or her analysis of contemporary events. Advanced proficiency in Russian required.
