Job: Program Associate and Coordinator (Center For Strategic And International Studies, Washington, D.C.)

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.  Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

Program Associate

The Program Associate provides administrative and technical support for programs under the supervision of the Senior Program Officer for Europe and Eurasia. He / She will be expected to perform complicated tasks requiring prior experience, education or training.

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years professional experience in international affairs, including experience living, working, or studying in Eastern Europe/Eurasia.
  • Superior analytical and writing ability.
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken Russian, native-level English.
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience editing non-native English under strict deadlines

Level of language proficiency:

  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken Russian, native-level English.

Program Coordinator 

The PC is responsible for organizing events, meetings, and seminars on topics related to international development and the role of the private sector in development. They will provide administrative support in the day-to-day operation of the program. They will also be responsible for conducting extensive research and writing on topics related to international development like domestic resource mobilization, development finance institutions, governance and rule of law, quality infrastructure, and migration. 

Qualifications:

  • B.A. in International Relations, International Development, Democracy, Governance, and Corruption studies, or a related field.
  • Superior writing, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to conduct rigorous research and present information clearly and efficiently in English. A second language is preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
