Based in Washington, DC, the Program Manager for Russian and Eurasian Outbound Programs oversees a wide range of American Councils program providing intensive language training, internships, and area studies courses in Russia and Eurasia. These programs include but are not limited to the Russian Language and Area Studies Program (RLASP) in Moscow; St. Petersburg; Vladimir; and Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Program Manager also oversees the American Councils Fulbright Hays Group Projects Abroad grant, which provides critical financial aid to program participants; directs American Councils recruitment efforts for all programs; and develops new programs, including faculty led initiatives and university-partner programs, in consultation with the Outbound Senior Program Manager and the Director of Higher Education Programs. The Program Manager supervises the Outbound Program Officer for Russia and resident directors in the field.
