The Visa Global Public Policy (GPP) team’s mission is to position the company as a leader in shaping public policies that expand digital payments and promote an open and competitive environment, helping individuals, businesses and economies to thrive. GPP develops Visa’s position on key policy issues facing the global electronic payments’ sector, illustrating Visa’s shared value with governments. The team is responsible for establishing and maintaining Visa as a thought leader on these issues and proactively aligning business initiatives with policy trends and public policy objectives. The team monitors public policy developments around the world and, through evidence-driven research, develops novel content that promotes a knowledge-led dialogue on digital payments. The team also provides advice to a number of internal stakeholder groups on both mature and emerging payments policy issues. As such, the team maintains a range of internal and external facing platforms as distribution mechanisms for public policy content.
The Regulatory Affairs Analyst or Manager, is a key member of the GPP team providing support across a range of projects and initiatives. This individual will be relied upon as a trusted resource for the team to undertake desk research, clean, organize and analyze data, undertake due diligence of external consultants’ work products, distil volumes of information into key insights, and effectively communicate key findings. He/she will have outstanding communication skills and a good grasp of the public policy making process, economics literature, data analysis, and, ideally, industry developments pertaining to payments.
Basic Requirements:
- Master’s degree in public policy (or a closely related field) from a top-tier institution
- 2-4 years of post-university work experience in a corporate, public or non-profit environment
- Combination of academic background in public policy, law, economics, international relations, journalism or political science with statistics, mathematics, data science, or computer science is strongly preferred
- Exposure to public policy and/or government affairs
- Exposure and/or interest in retail payments, financial services and financial technology
- Experience with statistical packages (e.g. R, STATA), databases (e.g. Access, SQL Server, MySQL) and data visualization software (e.g. Tableau)
