Internship Opportunity: Razom for Ukraine, Government Affairs Internship (Apply by Apr. 15)

Spring 2026

Part-Time: 10-15 hours per week. The duration of the internship can be adjusted to accommodate academic calendars.  

Based in Washington, DC. (hybrid; at least one day in office, with occasional Hill work required)

ABOUT RAZOM 

Razom, which means “together” in Ukrainian, is dedicated to upholding the Revolution of Dignity (Maidan) principles and actively contributing to establishing a secure, prosperous, and democratic Ukraine. We achieve this by creating, inspiring, and collaborating on initiatives that motivate people to think, partner and do. Razom Advocacy, a Razom program, is dedicated to advancing U.S. legislation and policy for Ukrainian victory and to nurturing community engagement across the United States.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Razom Advocacy’s Government Affairs team is seeking a motivated Spring 2026 intern to support ongoing federal advocacy efforts in Washington, DC. This placement will focus on organizational development, donor engagement, and Hill outreach. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn about nonprofit advocacy, U.S. politics, and fundraising.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Government Affairs Intern will:

Assist with government affairs and advocacy initiatives, including helping draft and design policy materials.

Track and support legislation, policy analysis; help lobbyists with policy materials, track committee developments, etc.

Provide administrative support for C3 organizational needs.

Go to Capitol Hill as needed to distribute materials and attend hearings or briefings.

Monitor and track relevant hearings, briefings, and reports of interest to the team.

Provide logistical and creative support for events and advocacy activities.

Assist with graphic design needs (flyers, one-pagers, digital assets, etc.).

REPORTS TO

Advocacy Program Director

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Interest in U.S. politics, policy, and/or nonprofit advocacy.

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar) are highly preferred.

Must be based in Washington, DC, with the ability to work from Razom’s office at least one day per week (flexible on the day and hours) and attend events or meetings on Capitol Hill.

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

Interns will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit advocacy operations, including:

Exposure to how nonprofit advocacy organizations operate in practice.

Policy research, analysis, and advocacy materials creation.

Firsthand experience in congressional advocacy, including attending hearings and Hill events.

Mentorship and training from seasoned government affairs professionals.

SALARY RANGE 

$18/Hour
