The Council On International Educational Exchange (CIEE), contracting with the U.S. State Department, works to place students from certain countries, including Kazakhstan. Within our region, we currently have a few students from Kazakhstan who are seeking U.S. host families for the next school year. Here are brief profiles of two:
Aru, 16-year-old girl from Kazakhstan, is interested in drawing, dancing and photography. “My paintings more than once were in our city’s museum of art. I participated in many dance competitions and festivals. Another hobby is photography. I like to make beautiful and aesthetic photos, which have special atmosphere. I spend my free time with reading good books and films. My favorite category of books and films is detective. Also I really like historical films and I prefer Japanese animation. Actually I’m crazy about Asian culture. I’m big fan of Korean music, K-dramas and food (like Ramen or Kimbap).”
Aidana, 16-year-old girl from Kazakhstan, likes to spend free time with family, friends, or on my own, reading books and watching movies. “Me and my friends usually simply wander around our town, exploring new places or go to the nearest coffee house and have a cup of coffee together. I can make new friends fairly easily. My friends would describe me as a kind person, with whom it is easy to have interesting and sincere conversations. I love reading books. I love listening to music, to all kinds of music.”
Sharing this information with anyone with an interest in hosting students or an interest in Kazakhstan is highly appreciated.
Anyone interested in learning more may contact Kerry G. Hill, CIEE Local Coordinator, Madison, WI at worldwisewisconsin@gmail.com. Kerry would be happy to answer questions, with no obligation, no pressure. He also provides oversight for students placed in the area.
