Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute Accepting Applications

The 2018 Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute (HUSI) is now accepting applications. The summer school will take place at Harvard University from June 23 to August 11, 2018.

In addition to providing seven weeks of intensive, accredited instruction, HUSI offers graduate and advanced undergraduate students the unique opportunity to study at an Ivy League university, access Harvard’s massive library system, enjoy the vibrant cultural life of Boston and Cambridge, and develop a network of peers and experts in Ukrainian studies.

There are three courses offered this summer: “Ukrainian for Reading Knowledge” (8 credits); “Revolutionary Ukraine: Avant-garde Literature and Film from 1917 to the Euromaidan of 2014” (4 credits); and “Laboratory of Modernity: Politics, Culture, and Society in Ukraine, 1800-Present (4 credits).

Financial support is available; those enrolling in “Ukrainian for Reading Knowledge” may apply for a FLAS through Harvard’s Davis Center (deadline for Harvard FLAS fellowships is February 9, 2018).

The HUSI application deadline for students applying for financial aid is March 12, 2018.
