Russian Flagship Film Screening: Leto

February 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Learn more and RSVP (required)

Please note that the film screening is available only to UW-Madison faculty, staff, and students using their Net ID.

The Russian Flagship Program will kick off a series of spring semester events with a screening of the film Leto, a 2018 Russian musical directed by Kirill Serebrennikov  that depicts the underground rock scene of Leningrad in the early 1980s. The screening will be followed by a lecture by Russian rock expert Artemy Troitsky on March 1.

Screening Leto is an important first step if you want to take full advantage of these activities! You have two options to view the film:

  1. Join Russian Flagship students and other UW-Madison students of Russian on Friday, February 26 for a virtual group screening. (Make sure to register in advance!)
  2. Watch Leto on your own using UW-Madison’s Kanopy subscription. (See attached instructions for access.)
