Speaker: Edward Friedman, Professor Emeritus of Political Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Friedman’s talk will focus on China’s foreign policy interests in the post-Mao era, with particular attention to future forecasts for China and Central Asia.
Edward Friedman is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has authored a number of books, including Chinese Village, Socialist State (1991), China’s Rise, Taiwan’s Dilemmas and International Peace (2005), Asia’s Giants: Comparing India and China (2005), Revolution, Resistance and Reform in Village China (Yale, 2005), Regional Cooperation and its enemies in Asia (2006), and Political Transitions in Dominant Party Systems (2008). Friedman continues to conduct research on Chinese foreign policy.
