Culture and Politics in Hungary” is a summer 2024 study abroad program led by University of Wisconsin-La Crosse faculty Dr. Regina Goodnow (political science) and Dr. Elizabeth Peacock (anthropology). Discover Hungary’s vibrant history as we explore events such as the Hungarian 1956 uprising, the peaceful end of communist rule in the late 1980s, and the challenges of transition that persist to this day. Immerse yourself in experiential learning through site visits, cultural events, and more. Enroll in two engaging courses, ‘Post-Communist Politics’ and ‘Peoples and Cultures of Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union,’ earning 6 upper-division undergraduate credits. Embrace a global perspective, with interdisciplinary insights and comparative experiences.
