Central Eurasian Studies Summer Institute Student Applications Open

Applications for CESSI 2025 are now open. The priority deadline is February 1, 2025, with rolling admissions through April 1.
The Central Eurasian Studies Summer Institute (CESSI) is a unique, 8-week intensive summer language program that offers courses in Uzbek, Kazakh, Tajik, and Uyghur contingent upon sufficient enrollment. (With enough interest, courses in Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz may also be offered.) All 2025 courses will be conducted in a synchronous, online format.
CESSI is open to undergraduates, graduate students, scholars, researchers, and professionals with courses taught at the elementary, intermediate, or advanced levels. Funding opportunities such as the Title VIII Fellowship, FLAS Fellowship, and CESSI and WISLI tuition scholarships are also available.
