The Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies is the intellectual home of Harvard scholars and students with an interest in this critical region of the world. The Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies exists to advance scholarship in all fields of Russian and Eurasian studies at Harvard. The Center does this in many ways: administering a master’s program in regional studies, sponsoring seminars and conferences, supporting faculty and student research, maintaining the Davis Center Collection at Fung Library, hosting postdoctoral fellows, visiting scholars, and associates in research, publishing a journal on the Cold War, and sponsoring outreach to K-14 educators and students and the broader community.
Reporting to the Event Planner, the Events and Outreach Assistant provides vital logistical and administrative support for a myriad of public events sponsored by the Davis Center, including, but not limited to: seminars, films, public lectures, conferences, teacher workshops, working groups in Russia (no travel required!), and exhibits.
Events support: Arrange travel and catering, book rooms (EMS), collect RSVPs and check-in attendees. Provide on-site event support, such as collect and deliver supplies to the event location, room setup and breakdown, audio-visual connections, materials preparation and collection, and note-taking.
Communications support: Enter and maintain event listings on the Davis website and Eventbrite send biweekly electronic calendar to mailing list, update mailing list. Secure signed release forms and audio-record select events. Upload event recordings for communications team processing.
Administrative support: Update and maintain events database, enter event data into standard template for posters and hang posters around campus. Maintain events documentation for the DC archives. Track project activities for sponsored grants.
Finance support: Collect and review financial paperwork from event participants. Track expenses for budget reports.
